Hello friends,
There are vampires in the vineyard! The moment we arrived in Paso Robles, California, the sky grew overcast. Really lovely weather, a little ominous, but lovely. Still it ruined Sunny's plan to relax and sun bath. Instead he, Joe Miller, and Choral went to walk around the vineyards as Gummy, Runny, and myself played a little soccer on a public field before heading to town to do some restocking. Clyde Lamm flew up from Toonstone to see Melody, so they've been flying around together, sometimes walking, with Clyde in his mortal form.
Turns out that Sunny, Joe, and Choral joined a local scooter gang of vampires for the day. The vampires live in the local lemon grove beside the vineyard and go around town doing good in their convoy of red scooters. You wouldn't guess it from their leather studded jackets and dark sunglasses, but they're very helpful. One of them retrieved our ball when Runny kicked it too hard and got it stuck in a tree. Another brought lemons to the owner of the mom-and-pop bed and breakfast we're staying at. Sunny, inspired by the gang, offered to deliver this postcard to the post office in town. I plan to make some Grave Goblets and Tomb-scones tonight as a special treat and as a thank you.
I'd better get to baking. The RV's oven is very small.
