Jelly Worms
Sunny the sun-loving vampire, here. I want to share the recipe for one of the most shocking snacks this side of the grave. Jelly Worms! They’re sure to please ghouls and guests alike. The recipe makes fifty to a hundred worms, so save some to gross out your friends, throw a scary Halloween party, or bury the extras in the fridge until you’re ready for a delicious jelly snack. Each batch of Jelly Worms is full of strawberry flavor. Place the worms on a bed of crushed Oreo dirt or put them in a bowl for a spooky feeling game. They’re as fun to play with as they are to make! You can also use them to dress up your grave-goblets. Find Felipe Femur the Skeleton’s great recipe for Grave Goblets here. Just follow the 13 easy steps below and you’ll have yourself a party favorite to serve or scare your friends in no time at all. Don’t forget to read about my scary encounter with the graveyard earth worms in my scary story for kids, “Wet, Toothless Mouths.” |

Directions
Make some Jelly Worms by following these 13 easy steps.
Step 1:
Assemble all your ingredients.
Step 2:
Extend the neck of all 50 straws.
Step 3:
Stuff all 50 straws into tall narrow container. Put them in neck down.
Step 4:
In kettle, bring water to a boil.
Step 5:
Place strawberry Jell-o and unflavored gelatin into a large mixing bowl.
Step 6:
Add 1.5 cups to dry ingredients.
Step 7:
Mix in 1/4 whipping cream or half-and-half and eight drops of green food dye to off set the red of the strawberry Jell-o. Mix thoroughly.
Step 8:
Transfer liquid mix to an easy pour measuring cup. Place a rubber band around straws if you’d like. Let liquid cool to be luke warm.
Step 9:
Pour liquid mix into the straws.
Step 10:
Much of the liquid will fill the container around the straws. This is OK. Still, try to pour the mix into the straws.
Step 11:
Let the mixture cool and set. This may take up to a couple hours.
Step 12:
Remove straws from container. Separate. Use a rolling pin to squeeze jelly worms from the straws. They should come out without much difficulty.
Step 13:
Serve on a plate, bowl, or on a bed of crushed cookie dirt. You can also use them to dress up your Grave Goblets. Enjoy your Jelly Worms!
