Hello friends, After a long day of driving we decided to spend the night in Baker, CA. It's the home to the tallest thermometer, which read 92 degrees upon our arrival and has fallen to 75 degrees with the sunset. I'm not saying there's so little to do in Baker that I sat watching the temperature. It's just the thing is visible from everywhere in the small town. We had dinner at the local Denny's and then stopped for a snack at Alien Fresh Jerky. Joe seemed hesitant to try the alien jerky. I figured that perhaps he was vegetarian, but he wouldn't eat the alien cheese either. The poor guy kept mumbling that he wasn't a "cannibal" instead of a "carnivore" every time someone offered him a sample. Now that I think of it, he ordered Moons Over My Hammy ® at Denny's. A meat and cheese dish... I told him he should go nap. The heat must be getting to him. The rest of us enjoyed relaxing a bit. The girls made a trip to the Kelso Dunes to collect sand for a rain-stick and various spells and potions. Sunny, Gummy, and I stayed in town. We sat near the main road and played a game of counting cars. Every red car gave Sunny a point, every white one went to Gummy, and I got every yellow one. Poor choice on my part. Gummy won by a lot. Until next time, Felipe Femur
